In February of 1974, Protranslating was officially launched by Founder Dr. Luis A. de la Vega and Maria Cristina in Miami, Florida as one of the first language companies in the city. Initially, we offered translating services in Spanish, English, and Creole, as well as interpreting services in French, German, and Portuguese with Luis as the interpreter. Fast forward to almost 50 years later, Protranslating is a major player in the language space, translating more than 150 million words per year, with the values that earned us our first engagement continuing to propel our growth. 

From the start, our founder was obsessed with words — DNA he inherited from his great-grandfather who established Cuba’s first language school. In creating Protranslating, he surrounded himself with like-minded thinkers. Today, we are a vibrant, passionate community of 150+ in-house linguists working with a worldwide alliance of translators, proofreaders, interpreters, localization specialists, and editors to deliver excellence in translations and service. Our network is dedicated to meticulously ensuring the clarity and precision of every word onto which we put our name.
